in my home we LOVE halloween!! my kids have been counting the days (literally) since june. bentley knew right away she wanted to be a witch. so fun since this is the first year her costume did not have somthing to do with a princess. and noah’s costume started by me mentioning to my sister how awesome it would be for him to be max from ‘where the wild are’. seriously within days, she had made a costume and it was in the mail. she is unbelievable and how lucky am i to have a sister that can spit a costume out like this and is obsessive compulsive as well! so of course we did a photo session. i just love my kids!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
today was a great day. why would it not be? it was a day i was able to celebrate my mother and being a mother. the other day i realized i do not have enough pictures of my own amazingly cute children. so, i found this feild filled with beautiful yellow flowers and decided that i would take them out for a session. this was the best session i have had with them … no threatening, no crying, just fun! they must of really listened to their dad who told them to be nice to me on mother’s day.
i am so thankful for my kids. bentley and noah are the greatest. they are sweet, sincere, hilariously funny, and super silly! here they are. enjoy, this time … my kids!
It has been so cold here {SO COLD}! But luckily before this dreadful cold front hit, I was able to do a family photo session on one beautiful Saturday morning. It could not of been a more perfect day (given that it was January). This family was so dang cute, I seriously cannot even stand it. Stephanie did a great job putting her family’s outfits together and she is just plain gorgeous (I never told you, but I LOVE your hair stephanie. The whole time I was editing, I just loved it more and more.) Thanks so much for the fun morning and enjoy!
the boys
Is it because they have to be still at school all day? Is it that they just need to get energy out? Is it because their dad is so funny and silly? I do not know - but my kids are so super silly! Lately it has been out of control. At times I am frustrated . . . When I am trying to get them dressed and they cannot hold still, when they are jumping all over the place and the jumping ends up to be on me, and all the screaming! However, there are other times that I just adore it! Like, when I am taking their pictures and they are silly together, making eachother laugh infront of the camera. I realized that kids only stay kids for well, not very long. If there is ever a time to be silly and crazy - it is now! I am just so glad I am here to capture those moments.
my kids - check them out. I know I am bias but they are so dang cute. I am proud.
Have I told you how I love when my clients choose their own locations?!? It really makes their photo session unique and so personal. I just love it. I was so excited when Rebecca picked one of my favorite parks for the location of her family photo session. She heard about me through Andrea’s family (everyone now calls them the “orchard family”) . . . by the way Andrea has referred so many people to me, so I need to give a quick shout out to her and say THANKS! Okay now back to the park. As you can see we found a fun merry-go-round that allowed for some really fun pictures. Rebecca has waited so patiently for these - thanks so much and enjoy. **warning: there were just too many to choose, so you are getting tons!
These girls so were gorgeous! Rebecca dressed them so perfectly. Th ponchos and hats kept them warm and happy and still made them look cute. That is so hard to find.
As you know by now, I live on the other side of the country from my family . . . so, how excited was I to hear that I had family living here - in the same metro area. Jade and I are second cousins (I think). All I know is that my super fabulous grandma is sisters with her super fabulous grandma! Seriously, they are the cutest women I have ever seen - I just hope to one day look half as fabulous as they do! Well, the being absolutely gorgeous did not end with my aunt Joy - check out Jade and her family. All I have to say is I proudly call them family . . .
Anyone that has ever done a photo session with me knows I just adore a beautiful set of eyes. Well, it does not get any better than this.
With lots of family sessions these last few weeks, I knew Christmas time was near but did you know it is actually here?!? Oh, I love Christmas!!! I had some really fun family sessions last week that really help put me in the mood for the holidays. I have felt giddy while I was editing them and I couldn’t help but have Christmas music playing on my computer to put me in just the right mood. So for the first time this year . . . MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Remember this little girl. I do!! She is just so adorable, how could you ever forget??
In case you have not noticed . . . I {heart} urban locations!! It is just SO my style. I love the fresh urban look! So I went out with the cutest family (that by the way had the most gorgeous eyes) and we did some great stylish urban shots! The family looked great, the location was perfect, and we had great lighting. I am so glad because Traci and her family have had to reschedule twice because of rain! I am just so glad it all worked out and hopefully it was worth the hassle. I am just crazy about the results.
I could not decide:
color?
or black and white? So you get them both!
So when the time came to take pictures of just Clark and Traci, I asked them to laugh. They immediately jumped into action and seemed like they were really laughing at something. I think they were preparing for these pictures and they secretly practiced their laugh at home
! Whatever they were laughing about, I do not care because they totally worked it and the pictures turned out perfect!
