Scene hair is growing increasingly popular and hair color is a big part of that. If you’re planning on creating anything more complicated than the basic black and blond look, you should certainly look into getting a box of cleanroom gloves. I know they sound like something you’d expect to see in a hospital and you can certainly find them there, but they are great for home use as well. They are especially great for use with hair color.
Since cleanroom gloves were initially invented for doctors and surgeons who constantly need to perform complicated and delicate tasks, they are made to allow your fingers to move as naturally as if you weren’t wearing gloves at all. This is great for doctors, but it’s also great for anyone working with multiple colors of hair dye. If you’ve ever struggled to apply highlights with the plastic gloves that come with hair dye, you already know exactly what I’m talking about. If this is your first time doing anything more than single colored hair, understand that you’re going to want to move your fingers in specific ways and you won’t get that with the cheap plastic gloves in your hair dye box. If you want great gloves, invest in a box of disposable gloves made for professionals. You’ll be amazed at the difference they can make.
